Chaya Cuttings
Florida plant shipping
Plant form: Chaya stem cuttings for rooting, not an established potted plant. Select the listed pack quantity.
Before ordering: live plant shipping is being prepared to resume from Florida. Contact HELP@plantandheal.com with this item, your delivery state and ZIP code to confirm eligibility.
Shipping restrictions: we do not ship prohibited material. Required permits, inspections, certificates and destination conditions must be satisfied before shipment. An accepted order or payment does not establish shipping clearance. If we cannot lawfully ship the affected item, we will contact you and arrange its cancellation and refund before shipment.
- An unrooted cutting is reviewed separately from rooted stock. Any exemption must cover this exact material and source; cutting off roots or removing soil is not an automatic clearance.
Start a chaya plant from cuttings and grow leafy greens for the cooking pot. Chaya, also called tree spinach, is a tropical shrub.
Growing basics
- Root cuttings in a warm place using soil that drains well. Avoid soggy soil.
- Once established, give the plant sun, room to branch, and protection from frost.
- Wear gloves when handling plants; some chaya has irritating hairs.
Never eat chaya raw. Boil leaves in water for at least 20 minutes before eating. Do not treat a quick stir-fry or a cup of steeped tea as enough cooking. Contact us for the current cutting size.
