Agriculture is an ecosystem. Our people should be able to find one another.
Find Black farmers, growers, seed producers, and nurseries
The Black Agrarian is a directory connecting people with Black farmers, growers, food producers, agricultural businesses, and organizations. Search by location, what someone grows, or the work they do. If you are looking for food, seeds, plants, collaborators, or agricultural support, start with the people doing the work.
Find your people. Put your next purchase to work
Browse farms, nurseries, seed producers, beekeepers, educators, and other agricultural businesses. Use location and specialty filters, then contact the business directly to ask about current availability, pickup, shipping, or services.
Seasonal products change. A directory listing helps you make the connection; the business confirms what is available and how to order. Listings are supplied by participants and may be self-attested. Inclusion is not a certification, guarantee, or endorsement by The Black Agrarian, Plant & Heal, USDA, or another government agency.
Founded by Erica Andrea McRae
You may know her as Erica Plants. Erica founded The Black Agrarian to help make Black agricultural life easier to find: the farms, growers, seed keepers, nurseries, knowledge, and relationships that belong in the conversation.
This is part of how we grow through polyculture. Seeds, plants, education, entrepreneurship, technology, and community support one another across our work. Plant & Heal helps people get growing. The Black Agrarian helps people find and connect with the people growing.
Growing something? Get listed
Read the directory's eligibility and listing standards, then choose the listing type that fits your work. Producer and organization listings have different requirements. You can begin with your city or region; do not publish a private home address to make your business visible.
