Live Plant & Cutting Shipping

Live plant shipping is being prepared to resume from Florida. Please contact HELP@plantandheal.com with the item, selected plant form, delivery state and ZIP code before ordering live plants or cuttings. Destination eligibility must be confirmed before shipment.

Two shipping operations

  • Live plants and propagation material: Florida fulfillment when plant shipping resumes. This includes rooted plants, bare-root plants, plugs, cuttings, slips, cane nodes and tissue-culture plantlets.
  • Dry seed packets: ship from Georgia under our Georgia seed-selling operation. Seed rules and plant rules are reviewed separately.

The plant form matters

A rooted plant, unrooted cutting, dormant bare-root crown and sealed tissue-culture vessel are different products for shipping purposes. Choose the exact form listed. We will not substitute a different form to bypass a restriction. Removing soil does not automatically make a plant eligible for every state. Nursery container size does not, by itself, promise that the pot or growing medium is included in shipment; contact us where the listing does not specify packing.

Destination restrictions

Eligibility depends on the exact botanical identity, plant form, actual growing origin, ship-from location and current pest rules. We do not ship prohibited material. Where a permit, inspection, certificate, notice or arrival hold applies, the required conditions must be met before release. Acceptance of an order or payment is not regulatory clearance.

  • California: rooted plants and below-ground plant parts from Florida require the applicable quarantine pathway. Bare-root plants are still rooted plants. Some above-ground unrooted cuttings have specific provisions; they are not a blanket exemption from other rules. Leafy hibiscus has additional cotton jassid restrictions. We do not offer Florida-grown rue for California delivery under our current offering. Soursop is reviewed by its actual form and applicable pest rules, not described as subject to a blanket soursop ban.
  • Louisiana and Mississippi: Florida nursery material can require additional official nematode certification. We must confirm the required documents for the item before shipment.
  • Texas: Florida-origin rooted plants and growing media require review under the applicable nematode and commodity rules. Soursop in soil or growing medium also needs the applicable host-plant review.
  • Hawaii: plants require entry inspection and growing media cannot contain soil. Some plants, including banana and passionfruit, need additional permits or quarantine arrangements. Shipping is not confirmed until those requirements are resolved.
  • Blueberries, grapes, sweet potatoes, sugarcane and vegetable transplants: additional crop-specific requirements may apply. A general nursery inspection tag does not replace a required crop certificate or permit.

These are selected examples, not a complete list of restrictions. Every destination is reviewed for the actual item. Orders to U.S. territories, military addresses or international destinations need a separate review; a 50-state review does not clear those destinations.

If an item cannot ship

We will not dispatch an item when entry is prohibited or required documentation is unavailable. We will contact you about the affected item and arrange cancellation and refund before shipment. Do not use a forwarding address to avoid plant-entry restrictions.

Arrival and care

Unpack promptly and follow any official inspection or hold instructions. Plant size and foliage vary with season and growing conditions. Contact us promptly with clear photos if the box or plant arrives damaged. Shipping and care language does not waive mandatory plant-health requirements.
