50–60 days from direct sow to bloom — Calendula Seeds - Pacific Beauty Mixture

Pacific Beauty calendula is a vibrant, open-pollinated heirloom flower mix producing sunny shades of golden yellow, deep orange, and soft apricot blooms. These cheerful flowers are both ornamental and edible, making them a true multi-purpose addition to any garden. Calendula petals add bright color and a mild, slightly peppery taste to salads, baked goods, and herbal teas, while also being valued for skin-soothing salves and balms.

Grow style:

  • Containers: Thrives in pots at least 8–10 inches deep; perfect for patios or balconies.

  • In-ground: Performs well in most garden soils, even poorer types, as long as drainage is good.

  • Raised beds: Excellent for concentrated plantings and companion planting with vegetables to attract pollinators.

  • Hydroponics: Less common, but possible in large media beds for edible flower production.

  • Small-space gardens: Compact growth makes it suitable for borders, window boxes, or tucked among herbs.

Prolific? Yes; each plant produces dozens of blooms over a long flowering season, especially if deadheaded regularly. In ideal conditions, the plants will re-bloom continuously until frost.

Sowing Instructions: Direct sow after the last frost date, planting seeds 1/4 inch deep and spacing plants 6–12 inches apart. Can also be started indoors 4–6 weeks before transplanting. Prefers full sun but will tolerate partial shade in hot climates. Calendula tolerates cool weather and can handle light frosts.

Average Seed Life: 5–6 years
Packet: 25 seeds
Heirloom: Yes — open-pollinated mix.
