Hyssop Seeds
Hyssop is a pretty, sweet-smelling plant that comes back year after year. It grows about 2 feet tall and has spikes of blue, pink, or white flowers that bloom in summer. Hyssop has small, green leaves that smell nice when you touch them.
This plant is great for gardens because it attracts butterflies and bees. It's also easy to grow and doesn't need much water once it's established. Some people use hyssop to make tea or add flavor to cooking, but always ask a grown-up before using any plants for eating or drinking.
How to Plant: You can plant hyssop seeds directly in your garden after the last spring frost. Or, start them inside 6-8 weeks before spring. Plant the seeds just under the soil surface, about 1/8 inch deep. Keep the soil lightly moist. Seeds usually sprout in 14-21 days.
Hyssop likes sunny spots in the garden but can handle a little shade. It grows well in most types of soil as long as it drains well.
