Borage Seeds
Borago officinalis, commonly known as Borage or Starflower, is an annual herb with striking blue star-shaped flowers and fuzzy leaves. Growing to a height of 1-3 feet, this fast-growing plant blooms from late spring through summer, attracting bees and other pollinators to the garden.
Borage is prized for its culinary and medicinal uses. The flowers and young leaves have a mild cucumber flavor and can be used in salads, as a garnish, or candied for decorative purposes. The plant is also known for its ability to improve soil quality when used as a green manure.
Sowing Instructions: Sow seeds directly in the garden after the last frost, or start indoors 3-4 weeks before the last frost date. Plant seeds 1/4 inch deep and 12 inches apart. Germination typically occurs in 5-15 days. Borage prefers full sun but can tolerate partial shade.
